Windows driver v1.­2.­1 fixes a bug that was discovered in the v1.­2 TranzPort Windows driver,­ which mostly affected users with Windows 2000.­ The bug could in some cases cause the computer to lock up if the TranzPort USB adapter was plugged in during boot.­ If you have not yet installed a Windows driver for TranzPort,­ you should download and install this version,­ rather than the v1.­0 version on the TranzPort v1.­0 CD-ROM.­ If you have installed a previous version of the Windows driver,­ you should download this version and install it on your machine.­ To do this,­ please disconnect the TranzPort USB interface and restart your computer.­ Then run the v1.­2.­1 installer to completion,­ and reconnect the USB interface.­ This version includes the updated SONAR v1.­2.­4 plugin.­ To verify that you’ve got the v1.­2.­1 driver installed properly,­ use Windows Explorer to navigate to the System32\Drivers folder beneath your main Windows folder.­ (For example,­ c:\windows\system32\drivers) Find the TranzPort.­sys file,­ right-click it and choose “Properties…” Click the Version tab,­ and make sure that the file version is 1.­2.­1.­1.­ [Note that to see the full file names you will need to uncheck the “Hide file extensions for known file types” option in the Windows Explorer “Tools | Folder Options” dialog’s “View” tab.­]
